Projekt Common Ground to wielogłos artystów z różnych części Europy, opowiadający o temacie migracji i różnych ich aspektach życia z perspektywy bytów ludzkich i poza ludzkich. Dla mnie stał się możliwością prześledzenia historii setek migrantów- od ich podróży, przez próby asymilacji, po chęć odniesienia sukcesu w nowym środowisku.
"Ce ̶i̶lling" jest pracą zamykającą tryptyk powstały w ramach CG. Praca mierzy się ze zjawiskiem tzw. szklanego sufitu wśród migrantów i uchodźców. Szklany sufit jest metaforą niewidzialnej bariery, nieuzasadnionej żadnymi regulacjami prawnymi ani racjonalnymi argumentami, ponieważ jest to rodzaj blokady kulturowej, którą na ścieżce rozwoju zawodowego mogą odczuwać pracownicy znajdujący się w mniejszości. Zjawisko to jest doskonale znane w kontekście zaniżonych wynagrodzeń kobiet, na tych samych stanowiskach, które piastują mężczyźni, jednak stanowi również duży problem pośród imigrantów i uchodźców.
W zależności od wieku i pochodzenia danej osoby, różnice w wynagrodzeniu mogą wynosić ponad 40%. Migranci i uchodźcy są również mniej chętnie zatrudniani i często pracują poniżej swego wykształcenia.
Sytuacja stworzona w mojej pracy ma dać możliwość poczucia fizycznej presji ograniczeń, z jakimi muszą się mierzyć ofiary szklanego sufitu. Kraje, do których przybywają, zamiast stawać się ich nowym domem, stają się celami, w których z braku innych możliwości tkwią. Dokonywany przez widza akt ugięcia podczas wchodzenia do pomieszczenia traktować należy jako akt solidarności względem osób wykluczonych, jak i deklarację sprzeciwu względem takich praktyk.

The Common Ground project is a polyphonic voice of artists from different parts of Europe talking about different aspects of migration from the perspective of human and non-human beings. For me, it became an opportunity to follow the stories of hundreds of migrants - from the beginnings of their journeys, through their attempt to assimilate, to their desire to live a normal life in a new environment.
'Ce̶i̶lling' is the closing work of the triptych created during Common Ground. The work faces the phenomenon of the so-called glass ceiling among migrants and refugees. The glass ceiling is a metaphor for an invisible barrier, not justified by any legal regulations or rational arguments, as it is a kind of cultural blockage that minority workers may experience on their career path. This phenomenon is well known in the context of the underpayment of women, in the same positions held by men, but it is also a major problem among immigrants and refugees. For example, depending on a person's age and ethnicity, the pay gap can be more than 40%. Migrants and refugees are also less likely to be employed and often work below their educational level.
The situation created in my work is intended to give a sense of the physical pressures of the constraints faced by victims of the glass ceiling. Rather than becoming their new home, the countries they have arrived become cells in which, for lack of other options, they are stuck. The act of bending by the viewer as they enter the room should be seen as an act of solidarity with the excluded, as well as a declaration against such practices.
